Teaching children to stay focused is one of our specialties. With classes designed specifically for 4 and 5 year olds, your child will learn the importance of eye contact, posture, and active listening skills that will benefit them not only in Taekwondo but at home too. Taekwondo students have an easier time concentrating and are able to control the fidgeting that often takes other children off track. The results are incredible!

The Little Tigers class is ideal for helping younger children develop the skills and abilities they need most, including:
TAEKWONDO BUILD CONFIDENCE
Is your son or daughter a little bit shy and need some help coming out of the shell? It might be hard to imagine him or her putting on a uniform, stepping onto and learning Taekwondo. Our instructors understand this fear and can turn such experience into powerful lessons of empowerment. Instructors undergo extensive training. They know how to build an excellent rapport by offering plenty of praise and encouragement. It is our job to bring out the best in every child. Also, students will gain their confidence through different color promotion and the “tip” system for belt promotion. Kids learn they can achieve more that they thought possible when they put their best effort into something and persevere.
IMPROVE BETTER FOCUS AND LISTENING SKILLS
Attention is central to Martial Arts.
Kids must stay focused to learn and to perform. When a child’s focus drifts, instructors will often ask them to take the “ready stance.” This position allows them to reset and ready themselves for what’s next. Kids will be able to practice their listening skills to develop better Self-Control, and Discipline, and Values. Each class sharpens better Memory, Focus, and Retention Skills.
HAND-EYE & BODY COORDINATION
Hand-eye coordination is important in your child’s early development. Taekwondo classes provide plenty of opportunities to improve fine motor skills through techniques, obstacles, drills, and challenges. The deliberate, repetitive movements of Taekwondo can help kids develop a better feel for their body in space, which can be useful to kids who struggle with motor skills. This may also help some kids understand the power of the mind over the body, which some find to be valuable for kids with ADHD.
RESPECT AND BETTER BEHAVIOR
Taekwondo serve more purposes than providing self-defense techniques and physical activity for children. Taekwondo is a discipline that is steeped in history and teaches children confidence, respect, and self-discipline. From the moment a child enters their first-class instructors have clear rules and constantly reinforce them. They will be taught to respect their instructor, fellow classmates and even the classroom in which the classes take a place. It is important for children to understand boundaries, learn proper respectful behavior. Children who participate in Taekwondo classes from an early age are often found to behave better in school as well as to have better relationship with their teacher.
